PURRS Naperville

cat rescue and adoption

PURRS Naperville is a non-profit, volunteer-run cat rescue serving the western suburbs of Chicago.

Big news: PURRS Naperville has merged with Magnificent Mutts!

Effective November 21, 2016, our staff, store locations, and volunteers will remain the same, but the PURRS Naperville name will go away and Magnificent Mutts will turn into “Magnificent Mutts and Meows”! We’re excited for the change and hope you will be too.

Rachael Resk, the founder of PURRS Naperville, will continue to help and assist Magnificent Mutts as requested but has no formal role in the new organization.

Please visit the Magnificent Mutts (and Meows!) website and enjoy the same great cats and great service you did before at PURRS Naperville. The Magnificent Mutts website is in the process of being updated with the new name.

Returning a cat? Magnificent Mutts will take all PURRS Naperville related cat returns.

You can visit our cats in three local pet stores: Petco in Naperville, PetSmart in Naperville, and PetSmart in Aurora. Since we have no physical shelter, your adoption fees and donations go directly towards helping another cat get off the streets and into a warm home. Our volunteers are available during weekly adoption hours/events, and also by appointment.

We are proud to be the largest cat rescue in DuPage County - we have helped over 4,000 cats find their forever family! PURRS Naperville is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded by animal behaviorist Rachael Resk. We are also a registered Animal Shelter with the Illinois Department of Agriculture, and member of Stray Cat Coalition of Chicago, Illinois Animal Welfare Federation, and the DuPage Animal Shelter Alliance. Our goal is a no-kill DuPage County.
